The Rin Tins (Gypsy Swing) and Flinklock (Celtic Folk Rock)

The Rin Tins (Gypsy Swing) and Flinklock (Celtic Folk Rock)

Keep them dancing.

That’s the ethos that The Rin Tins have kept since their inception in early 2011 and since then the sextet have strutted from one stage to another playing high octane gypsy swing to the party hard masses.

These festival veterans have appeared on stages at Glastonbury, Shambala, Boomtown and many many more over the last 7 years as well as venues throughout the country.

With music that combines 5 part harmonies with swing jazz rhythms and pounding oompa beats, for the past 7 years The Rin Tins have been filling dance floors and festival tents across the UK.

With support from local faves Flintlock this is sure to be an awesome start to your weekend : )

Mishka Shubaly (Storyteller/ Best Selling Author/ Cult Songwriter/ Smart Ass)

After receiving an expensive MFA from Columbia University, Mishka Shubaly promptly quit writing to play music. He lived out of a Toyota minivan for a year, touring nonstop, and has shared the stage with artists like The Strokes, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs and The Decemberists among others. A narrative published in NYPress about his romance with an opiate marked his return to writing.

His three Kindle Singles for Amazon have all been bestsellers. He writes true stories about drink, drugs, disasters, desire, deception and their aftermath. His work has been praised for its grit, humor, fearlessness and heart. 'The Long Run,' his mini-memoir detailing his transformation from alcoholic drug abuser to sober ultrarunner is one of the best-selling Kindle Singles to date.

Mishka Shubaly lives in Brooklyn where he writes music and plays bass for Freshkills. He is at work on a new solo record of his original songs and a full-length memoir. He does not own a dog but he thinks about them often.

Two Man Ting (Afro-Roots)

"Brilliant - love this sound! If you want a bit of early summer, then get this in your ear-holes!" Lauren Laverne, BBC 6 Music

TwoManTing was formed in 2004, when Jon Lewis and Jah-man Aggrey were working together in world/dance band Le Cod Afrique, performing at the likes of WOMAD, Montreux Jazz Festival and Glastonbury.

Since then, the duo has been performing regularly throughout the UK, and particularly on the Festival circuit. Festie shows have included Glastonbury, the Secret Garden Party, Musicport, Green Man, Whychwood, Ely Folk Festival, Big Green Gathering, Off the Tracks, Sunrise Celebration, Broadstairs Folk Week, Small World, Waveform, Nozstock, Bearded Theory....to name but a few.

2011 saw the release of the duo's acclaimed album "Legacy", much featured on BBC Radio 3 and BBC 6 Music, and in 2012, Jon and Jah played at over 30 UK festivals, and 100 gigs up and down the country.

2013 - The new EP "Ar Lek U" features 3 brand new tracks, and a re-working of an old favourite, inpired by the beaches of Freetown and honed in the muddy, sunny fields of England.

"Full of such bright, tuneful moments, this will really take-off in an intimate live setting" fRoots Magazine

Rodney Branigan (Texas Blues, Rock, Roots, Folk Fusion)

Rodney Branigan (Texas Blues, Rock, Roots, Folk Fusion)

Implausibly mastering the playing of two instruments at once and putting the rest of us to shame. Make no mistake, this is no novelty act. Rather he manages to combine an almost piano-like capacity, focusing each of his hands on either melodic or rhythmic, percussive duties and the results are mesmerising. Vocally comparable to Jeff Buckley and Simon & Garfunkel.

SO FUN TO WATCH and so mesmerising to listen to. DON’T MISS THIS!

Sam's percussive, acoustic slide guitar style, combined with stomp box, loop station and harmonica, have served as the foundation; on which he has built a strong reputation as a live act with universal appeal. His one-man-band shows are raw, intimate offerings of virtuosic slide guitar, infectious rhythms, engaging song writing and a soulful, blues inspired voice.

His travels have taken him and his music to some of the most highly respected venues and music festivals in the world. In 2013 Sam played Glastonbury festival where he and his band were described by The Independent News Paper as "One of the hot new acts making the summer swing". Since then, he has spent the majority of his time touring, playing festivals such as Glastonbury, Isle of Wight, Boomtown and Shambala, alongside Independently releasing his music.

March 2017 saw the release of Sam’s first full length solo album 'Just stand still' a record which tells the story of coming home to Devon and laying down roots on which to start a new chapter. The album features eight new songs written at home on his 8-track recorder and developed over the space of a year where he had the time and space to create, surf and recover from a hectic few years of non-stop D.I.Y touring. Sam appeared in 2017 at the world famous Sziget Festival in Budapest along with his band. He then spent the rest of the 2017/18 winter season touring his new solo album (opening for acts such as Wildwood Kin, Echotown and Wille and the Bandits) and has recently released 'Onsette Return,' the latest EP from Sam Green and the Midnight Heist.

For a great night of live music, don't miss Sam Green.

The Flamenco Thief (Spanish Guitar)

to May 3

The Flamenco Thief (Spanish Guitar)

HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS EVENING OF BEAUTIFUL MUSIC

Craig Sutton, better known as The Flamenco Thief, is an English guitarist whose phenomenal rise within the DIY music scene has seen him become one of the busiest touring artists in the country.

Specialising in fast rhythmic guitar playing Craig has earned a reputation for mesmerising live performances in which he uses a Spanish acoustic guitar with the Boss RC loop pedal to blend modern rhythms with time-honoured Flamenco techniques.

A particularly resourceful musician, Craig also utilises the guitar as a percussive instrument, layering metronomic hip-hop beats by carefully beating the body; creating a unique energy that few solo instrumentalists manage to achieve.

Craig’s early influences of ska, hip-hop and gypsy swing are evident throughout his music, helping him craft a catalogue of songs that are intelligent but accessible.

Craig’s compositions revere Flamenco’s heritage while embracing music technology, and as a result each song is delicately poised between the classical and contemporary.

Holiday Oscar (Folk Infused Story-telling)

Holiday Oscar (Folk Infused Story-telling)

This is going to be an excellent and highly entertaining gig - DON’T MISS IT!

Picking up plenty of love from blogs and Spotify for last year’s self-produced and self-released tracks Carousel, Nicholas and Teething Powder which highlighted an uncanny ability to draw on his own experiences, creating an intriguing catalogue of songs.

Wry observations, very much taken from everyday, modern life enveloped in a familiar and warm 70’s folk sound is the backdrop for much of the new material. Self-reflective story telling combined with beautifully composed arrangements has seen HOLIDAY OSCAR emerge from a productive year and the onset of 2018 portrays a visual montage of life since the the advent of the mobile phone in the accompanying video for new track; I Can’t Keep On Checking My Phone

Come along and support this excellent artist at your favourite local bar : )
